Kerry Washington - Kerry Washington: I surrender love life to God
Kerry Washington says she lets God guide her in making romantic decisions and she considers her relationship with her deity is the ''most important thing'' in her life.
Kerry Washington surrenders her love life to God's will.
The 'Scandal' actress - who secretly wed NFL football player Nnamdi Asomugha in June - is notoriously secretive about her personal life, but says she lets her religious beliefs and connection to her deity guide her in making romantic decisions.
She explained to Essence magazine: ''I believe in surrendering my life over to my creator. I feel as if my relationship with God is the most important thing in my life. If I can get that relationship right, it helps me to understand how to negotiate every other relationship.''
The Emmy Award-nominated star has become one of Hollywood's most sought after actresses since finding fame as Olivia Pope in hit political thriller 'Scandal'. However, unlike her character - who enjoys wine by the bottle - Kerry isn't a regular drinker.
Quizzed about her ideal girls' night out, she said: ''It would involve a lot of wine. I drink maybe twice a year. I would be with my three best friends from high school or my girlfriends from the show.''
The 36-year-old beauty does have a sweet tooth, however, revealing that she only attended childhood dance classes for free treats.
Kerry laughed: ''I was a brat of a dance student. I only came every week because they would give us candy at the end of class.''
