Katie Price received messages from Oscar Pistorius during his murder trial.

The 36-year-old star has confessed she was shocked to find the Paralympian had direct messaged her on Twitter while being tried for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp after she spoke out about the controversial case earlier this year.

Before the verdict of Oscar's trial - which saw him cleared of murder but found guilty of culpable homicide and jailed for five years - Katie previously said she would not ''judge'' the sportsman based on media reports of the night Reeva was shot dead, and a month later he followed her on Twitter.

She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ''He was direct messaging me during the case. It's weird, isn't it? He was saying, 'Thanks for the support', and stuff. Just general chit-chat. He was the first one to message me.

''Because I mentioned him in my column, he was referencing that. I wasn't exactly supporting him, but everyone who goes through a trial will be the only one who knows what really happened. You're innocent until you're proven guilty.''

The brunette beauty admits it was her brother Dan that first noticed Oscar, 27, had been sending her messages, and at first she didn't believe him.

She explained: ''He said, 'Oh my god, Kate - have a look at who's direct messaged you on Twitter'. I said, 'It's got to be fake'. He said, 'No, it's from his verified account'.''

And now Katie has revealed she would like to meet her unlikely acquaintance.

She added: ''I would interview him, I would love to.''
