The Strokes - Julian Casablancas Told Haim To Disappear And Write Better Songs

The Strokes star Julian Casablancas once ordered singing sisters Haim to walk away from the spotlight and write better songs if they wanted to make it big.

The siblings were given the chance to hit the road with Casablancas during his 2009-2010 solo tour, during which Danielle Haim played drums in his backing band, and she has revealed the star had some sage advice for the group.

Danielle tells Britain's The Guardian, "Julian told us: 'Disappear, come back in a year with stronger songs and hit the ground running'."

Haim took heed of Casablancas' words of wisdom and are due to release their debut album, Days Are Gone, later this month (Sep13) after a summer spent showcasing their new music to festival goers, including at Britain's famous Glastonbury event.
