Jonah Hill was in bed when he found out he'd been nominated for an Oscar.

'The Wolf of Wall Street' star was nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal of Donnie Azoff, a salesman who goes into business with Jordan Belfort (Leonardo Dicaprio), in the film and he's revealed that he was in bed when DiCaprio and director Martin Scorsese phoned him about the good news.

Quizzed on where he was when he found out, he said: ''I was in bed in Los Angeles. This time was really cool because Leo [DiCaprio] called and conferenced me in with Martin Scorsese, because all three of us got nominated, and we all were celebrating on the phone together.

''For me to get to be a part of that phone call was one of the most special things I could imagine.''

The 30-year-old actor, who is best known for his roles in comedy films including 'This Is The End' and 'Superbad', confessed that he felt like he was dreaming while on set with the film legends.

Speaking about his first day of shooting, he told The Guardian newspaper: ''I'm in slow motion on drugs and you see me with the big shades on. Leo leaned over at one point and was like, 'You're being shot on drugs in a slow-motion in a Martin Scorsese film'. I was definitely aware of the surrealness of the moment.''
