John Legend is working on dance drama 'Breaking Through'.

The 'All Of Me' hitmaker and 'Step Up: All In' scribe John Swetnam - who is set to make his directorial debut - have teamed up for the project which combines dance movies and found footage, reports deadline.com.

The plot has been described as a ''documentary-style dance drama for the YouTube generation'' and the picture is looking to discover new dance talent.

Mike Jackson, Uri Singer, Luis Fragali, and Fabio Golombek are producing while Legend will executive produce with Ty Stiklorius and Alexandru Celea.

Meanwhile Legend, who released his fourth studio album 'Love in the Future' in 2013, recently admitted that because the majority of his songs are about relationships people presume that they are all based on his own personal experiences.

The 35-year-old musician - who is married to Sports Illustrated model Chrissy Teigen - said: ''If I write about relationships gone bad in the future, I worry that people will think my marriage has gone bad.

''Everyone is so focused on my relationship with my wife after writing a really romantic album, and it's interesting to see if people will read things into everything I write.''
