John Cleese Left Soaked After Provoking Interviewer

Monty Python star John Cleese got a soaking during an appearance on a U.K. chat show this week (ends23May14) after he pelted host Alan Carr with drinks and nuts.

The veteran funnyman was a guest on Alan Carr: Chatty Man and decided to liven up the interview by throwing water and a glass of fruit-flavoured spirit Taboo over the presenter.

He then upped the ante by flicking peanuts at Carr as he gamely attempted to continue with the interview, but Cleese eventually came off worst when Carr grew sick of the good-natured goading and poured an entire bottle of booze over the comedian's head.

As Cleese sat laughing on a couch, Carr told the audience, "Oh, I can't believe I just did that to John Cleese. I'm so sorry," to which the funnyman replied, "What a way to treat a guest!"

The interview is due to air in the U.K. on Friday (23May14).
