Jennifer Lopez will no longer perform at the World Cup.

The 'On the Floor' hitmaker was due to join Pitbull and Claudia Leitte at the tournament's opening ceremony in Brazil on Thursday (12.06.14) to sing the official song 'We Are One' before the home nation takes on Croatia.

However, FIFA have now announced Jennifer won't perform because of unspecified ''production issues''.

A representative for the singer - who recently split from boyfriend Casper Smart - added: ''Regretfully Jennifer Lopez will not be attending this year's World Cup opening ceremonies.''

Just last week Jennifer - who also missed the official unveiling of plans for the song in January - said she was ''thrilled'' to perform at the opening ceremony.

She said: ''This is an amazing celebration of global unity, competition and sport.''

Despite Jennifer pulling out of the performance, Pitbull is still excited.

He said: ''To be performing 'We Are One' to the world, especially in such a beautiful country like Brazil, is going to be a lot of fun.

''But more than this, it is going to show the world that music is the universal language.''
