Jane Lynch - Jane Lynch Overcome With Emotion Discussing Cory Monteith On Tv
Actress Jane Lynch fought back tears as she paid tribute to her tragic Glee co-star Cory Monteith during a U.S. Tv interview on Wednesday (17Jul13).
The 31-year-old's body was found in his hotel room in Canada on 13 July (13), less than three months after he completed a stint in rehab, and an autopsy has confirmed the star died after taking a deadly mix of heroin and alcohol.
Lynch, who plays cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester in the Tv musical, has been hit hard by the tragedy and she became emotional as she shared her memories of Monteith on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, branding him a "really great guy".
With her voice breaking, Lynch told the host, "Cory's one of the biggest hearts, was a real bright light. He was one of those guys that... you know, he knew he was breathing rarefied air... the gifts that this wonderful show gave us.
"He was always aware that it was a gift and he was quite generous. He was one of those adventurous types... I always admired how he would get up... you know, he would fly to Mexico, he'd throw parties for his friends. I don't think he left one day unlived. He was a real bright light in our family and we've lost a really great guy."
When asked how she hopes Monteith will be remembered, Lynch added, "He once flew across the country on his own nickel to meet with a sick kid whose last wish was to meet him. That's the kind of guy he was. Just a real giver."
Monteith's remains were reportedly cremated on Tuesday (16Jul13) and his mother, brother and actress girlfriend Lea Michele said their farewells during a private ceremony.
