James Blake - James Blake Postpones U.s. Tour Dates
Music producer James Blake has postponed five U.S. tour dates in October (13) to attend the Mercury Prize ceremony in London.
The British star, who has been shortlisted for the prestigious honour for his album Overgrown, broke the news on his Facebook.com page, insisting it is necessary for him to attend the event on 30 October (13).
He writes, "Due to being nominated (and therefore having to attend) the Mercury Music Awards (sic) in London I'm afraid we've had to postpone the following gigs from the Oct/Nov US Tour... The dates will be rescheduled for early next year, sincere apologies to those who bought tickets. Refunds are available and existing tickets are valid for the rescheduled dates Tba (to be announced)."
The dates include three gigs in Texas, one in New Orleans, Louisiana, and one in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Mercury Prize is awarded annually to the most groundbreaking British album of the previous 12 months. Blake is nominated for this year's (13) honour alongside other stars including Arctic Monkeys, David Bowie and Laura Marling.
