Jake Gyllenhaal says society is complicit in 'nightcrawling' - Comments and Message Board

In real life there is no way I'd ever want to see anything as gruesome as a mangled or decomposed corpse. It would haunt me for a long time afterwards. I was reminded of these feelings when I heard there were YouTube videos of the beheadings in Syria/Iraq. No way could I have opened one of those; I was in tears for the victims and their loved ones. What deranged mind would want to watch such terror and cruelty? Probably a nightcrawler (a brand-new term to me). However, I will definitely see this film. I thought End of Watch, though filled with murder, was terrific and so did everybody I recommended it to. I've been a fan of Jake's since I became aware of him in 2005 and have enjoyed all of his movies ever since. I'm confident this one will be as good or better because he chooses his roles thoughtfully and acts them superbly.
