Electro duo Goldfrapp are writing the music for a new London stage adaptation of Greek tragedy Medea.

The Ooh La La hitmakers are overseeing the score of the National Theatre's new take on Euripides' story of loss and revenge.

Alison Goldfrapp took to Twitter.com to announce the collaboration, writing, "Hi! Wanted to let you know we're writing the music for National Theatre's production of #Medea directed by Carrie Cracknell."

The play will feature Harry Potter star Helen MCCrory in the title role. The production will kick off in the U.K. capital on 14 July (14) and will later be screened at selected cinemas in the U.K. in September (14).
