Tv - Fragrance Company Apologises Over Paul Walker Blunder
Executives at a fragrance company have issued an apology for airing a Tv commercial featuring tragic actor Paul Walker a day after his death in a car accident.
The Fast and the Furious star was the face of Davidoff Cool Water cologne, and fans in the U.K. were shocked to see his advert for the company on Tv on Sunday (01Dec13) just hours after he was killed in a car crash in California on Saturday (30Nov13).
The airing of the commercial, which showed Walker driving a car and diving in the sea, sparked outrage and bosses at Coty, Inc., the cosmetics company behind the Davidoff brand, have now issued an apology.
A statement from company Chief Executive Officer (Ceo) Michele Scannavini reads, "We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul's family, friends and fans around the world. We are working quickly to suspend all of our ads featuring Paul out of respect to his family and friends. We apologise for any upset that may have been caused by those that were aired subsequent to his death."
