Doctor Who - Doctor Who Director Derek Martinus Dies
Doctor Who director Derek Martinus has died at the age of 82.
The Brit passed away on Thursday (27Mar14) after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease, reports the Bbc.
Martinus began his career as a theatre actor, but he rose to fame in the 1960s and '70s as a Tv director, taking charge of 26 episodes of the cult sci-fi drama, including Galaxy 4, The Tenth Planet, The Evil of the Daleks, The Ice Warriors and Spearhead from Space, which was the first Doctor Who story produced in colour.
He also worked on another British sci-fi series, Blake's 7, and Bbc drama Z-Cars, as well as children's drama The Paper Lads.
