Dawn French - Dawn French Refuses To Scrap Tour After Breaking Ribs

British actress/comedienne Dawn French has rejected her doctor's advice to scrap her U.K. tour after fracturing her ribs in a freak accident.

The Harry Potter star is currently taking her stage show Thirty Million Minutes around the U.K., but the production was thrown into jeopardy recently when she suffered a nasty injury during a day out on a beach with her family.

French was advised to take six weeks off to rest but decided to soldier on with the tour.

She tells Britain's Woman & Home magazine, "I was mucking about (playing) on the beach with my family... My husband Mark picked me up and I suddenly felt this popping sensation. The doctor told me I had to take six weeks off, but of course that wasn't possible because of this tour so I'm strapped up every night before I go on stage.

"While I'm performing I don't feel any pain. It hurts before I go on, in the interval and at the end but while I'm up there, the adrenaline kicks in and it goes away."
