Busta Rhymes - Busta Rhymes Departs Cash Money Record Label

Rapper Busta Rhymes has left his record label, Cash Money Records, due to creative differences.

The Touch It hitmaker has been with the company since 2011, but the hip-hop veteran has officially parted from the label, which is also home to artists such as Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj.

In an interview with DJ Sway on his SiriusXm radio programme, Rhymes revealed he has departed from the label since he wasn't seeing eye to eye with Cash Money bosses.

He explains, "Nothing happened in a negative way. I was there for two years and the opportunity was a great opportunity at the time because of the type of deal that was done. For me, with this particular project and all of the sacrifice that went into it - recording the album for five years, I lost (manager) Chris Lighty making this album, I lost my father making this album - the s**t that I was putting into this album, I'm not compromising my vision for it."

He adds, "If I feel like if, in the slightest way, we ain't facilitating everything necessary for the vision to be seen and executed in the way I'm envisioning this s**t for the last five years, let me live and die in my own own inequity, homie."

Rhymes never released an album on the label, and he has already moved on from the split - he's preparing to debut his upcoming record, E.L.E. 2.
