Bruce Lee - Bruce Lee Exhibit Opens 40 Years After Star's Death

Bruce Lee's daughter has launched a special exhibition in Hong Kong ahead of the 40th anniversary of the martial arts icon's death.

A series of commemorative events are set to take place in the region to remember the Enter the Dragon star, who died from swelling of the brain aged 32 on 20 July, 1973.

Shannon Lee has overseen an exhibition along with the Bruce Lee Foundation, of which she is chairwoman, to coincide with the milestone, and she spoke to the star's ever-loyal legion of fans at a preview for the collection on Friday (19Jul13).

Speaking of her father's lust for life, she says, "I remember his energy, just sort of amazing presence when you were sort of caught in his attention and I really hold that true to my heart."

More than 600 personal items will be on show at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, where the exhibition will remain open for the next five years.

Shannon adds, "I am really thrilled. It is the first time a major museum anywhere in the world has mounted an exhibition of this scale and for this length of time."
