Bon Jovi - Bon Jovi Postpone Concert As Drummer Undergoes Surgery
Rockers Bon Jovi were forced to postpone a concert in Mexico on Tuesday (10Sep13) after their drummer was hospitalised for emergency appendix surgery.
The Livin' On A Prayer hitmakers pulled out of the gig at the Foro Sol venue in Mexico City hours before showtime when it became clear percussionist Tico Torres required immediate treatment to remove his appendix.
The band alerted fans to the cancellation by posting a message in Spanish on the Bon Jovi official Facebook.com page, and insisted a new date would be announced soon.
The group's former lead guitarist, Richie Sambora, reached out to his ailing pal via Twitter.com on Wednesday (11Sep13), writing, "All my love, prayers and heart goes out to my brother Tico. He is an amazing man, a true warrior, great artist and underestimated musician. God bless you bro."
Bon Jovi are due back on stage on Friday (13Sep13), when they are scheduled to perform in Santiago, Chile. It is not yet known if the show will go ahead as planned.
