Kirron Kher - Bollywood Actresses Kirron Kher And Gul Panag Launch Rival Political Campaigns

Bollywood actresses Kirron Kher and Gul Panag have launched rival political campaigns to run for office in their native India.

The stars are both vying for a political seat in the city of Chandigarh, with Kher representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (Bjp) and Panag standing with the Aam Aadmi Party in the upcoming elections.

Announcing her decision to run on Twitter.com, Kher writes, "Time I get on twitter and make direct connection with all of you (sic). I'm the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Chandigarh. Need all your support and best wishes."

Panag also took to Twitter.com to inform her fans she was entering the political race, writing, "In the ring now. Nomination filed. With our campaign manager."

Citizens will go to the polls on 10 April (14).
