Bob Geldof - Bob Geldof doesn't give kids advice
Bob Geldof insists he doesn't give his children musical advice and thinks they should follow their own paths.
Bob Geldof doesn't give his children musical advice.
The 61-year-old rocker - who rose to fame as a member of the Boomtown Rats - thinks his daughters, including Fifi Trixiebelle, 30, Peaches, 24, and Pixie, 22, should follow their own paths and while Pixie has followed in his footsteps in a band called Violet, he doesn't interfere with her career.
He explained to Classic Rock magazine: ''I couldn't possibly advise. It's not my place. I wouldn't know what to say. Some of my kids are in bands and I think they're good, excellent even, but I let 'em get on with it. Whether it's a career or something that just compels them, I don't really know.''
Bob insists being a rock star is a fun line of work when you're young, but admits fame can have its downsides.
He said: ''It's the best possible job on the planet. Let me recommend it to any youngster. Fame's a different matter. I wanted to use fame as a platform to illustrate things that bothered me, in songs like 'Looking After Number One' or whatever.''
