Robin Thicke - Blurred Lines Named Britain's Most-downloaded Song

Robin Thicke's hit tune Blurred Lines has been declared the most-downloaded song in U.K. chart history.

The track topped the Official Charts Company's digital poll after shifting 1.54 million copies since its release in May, 2013, despite Thicke coming under fire from anti-rape campaigners amid allegations the lyrics glamourised sexual violence. Others claimed the video, which featured scantily-clad girls dancing, objectified women.

Blurred Lines beat Adele's Someone Like You and Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera's Moves Like Jagger to the top spot; they landed in second and third place, respectively.

Gotye's Somebody That I Used to Know and the Black Eyed Peas' I Gotta Feeling rounded out the top five on the countdown, which was released to mark the chart's 10th anniversary.
