Happy Mondays - Bez Joins Anti-fracking Protest

Former Happy Mondays star Bez joined protesters at an anti-fracking march in Salford, England on Monday (17Mar14).

The dancer/singer, real name Mark Berry, paid a visit to a protest camp on Sunday (16Mar14) and joined the activists on a march close to the Barton Moss fracking exploration site the following day (17Mar14).

The demonstration comes just days after Bez announced his bid to become a Member of Parliament by standing as an independent candidate for Salford and Eccles at the U.K.'s next general election in 2015.

Bez plans to oppose the controversial gas-extraction method as part of his eco-friendly campaign manifesto.

Police arrested 13 protesters during Monday's march, according to the Manchester Evening News.
