Cristina Fernandez De Kirchner - Argentine Leader To Undergo Surgery For Blood Clot
Argentina's President Cristina Fernandez De Kirchner is to undergo surgery on Tuesday (08Oct13) to remove a blood clot from her brain.
She was diagnosed with a subdural haematoma over the weekend (05-06Oct13) and has since announced she will be taking a month off work to recover after the operation.
Vice President Amado Boudou will run Argentina in her absence.
The health crisis comes just two month after Fernandez, 60, suffered a cranial trauma, and she previously handed over power to Boudou when she underwent surgery in January, 2012 to remove her thyroid.
