Aerosmith - Aerosmith And Black Sabbath To Auction Memorabilia For Charity
Rock royalty Aerosmith, Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath are set to sell off some of their most prized possessions in a massive music memorabilia auction.
Steven Tyler's band has donated a signed setlist to the sale, and other top lots include an autographed Iron Maiden painting, an eye-catching orange amp used by Black Sabbath, a guitar from Status Quo, and a Faith No More gold disc for the album The Real Thing.
Organisers of the two-week Heavy Metal Truants and TeamRock.com charity sale, which began this week (ends10Aug14), will donate the proceeds to British charities ChildLine, The Teenage Cancer Trust, and Nordoff Robbins music therapy.
Iron Maiden's manager Rod Smallwood tells BBC Newsbeat, "It's always charities that get hit hardest in these tough economic times, so this is a great opportunity for fans, industry, and musicians to join forces in helping those who need it most."
