Steven Tyler the frontman from Aerosmith is reportedly set to replace Simon Cowell as a judge on the hit show American Idol. Tyler has been linked with the role for a number of weeks now, however, The Hollywood Reporter is today suggesting the contract has been signed, and that the I Don't Want To Miss a Thing singer will join the panel for the tenth series.
The news comes after CBC News reported that Tyler had taken a fall at an Aerosmith gig in Canada on Tuesday 17th August. They wrote that the frontman had fallen off a walkway at the concert after guitarist Joe Perry accidently backed into him- the band were playing Love in an Elevator at the time. Despite the incident, Tyler was unhurt and landed on his feet, returning to the stage to continue singing.
Although Fox are refusing to comment on the news, it looks likely that the 62-year-old rock legend will join Randy Jackson on the panel for the all new series, which kicks off in January.
