Steven Tyler's decision to join the American Idol judging panel appears to have paid off for his group Aerosmith - sales of the band's albums are way up.
The quirky rocker has become an instant hit on the U.S. TV talent show and fans are rushing out to hear him on record.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, sales of Aerosmith's 1994 hits compilation Big Ones have gone up 260 per cent since Tyler made his debut on Idol last month (Jan11).
The band's other hits collections have also shot up the sales tally, while digital downloads of singles like I Don't Want to Miss a Thing and Dream On are also in demand.
