Steven Spielberg Expresses Disappointment For Hollywood Not Supporting John Kerry - Comments and Message Board

Just one more reason for me to hate Spielberg. The Hollywood left constantly demanding that theirvoices be heard in the political arena, like the spoiled children they are.For Spielberg to express his own oppinion on anissue is fine and dandy. But for him to whinethat his industry isn't in lock-step with hispolitcal views is tantamaount to Spielbergself-appointing the title of 'biggest liberal'because he "cares" more about politics thanthe rest of his industry.

Could Kerry's weak following be due to the "untruths" he professed many years ago and during his campaign?

Kerry was a terrible candidate....I spent weeksfollowing up on everything about this man. He had norecord to run on......his military record was all lies.....I interviewed doctors, and medic's thepurple hearts were lies, the silver star on his websecretary of navy announced he did not sign, the bronze on his web had an intial on it that themilitary announed was not on this award....Dr. andmedic had been ask my Kerry if his wounds werepurple heart, and they told him no ....to find outlater he either signed or had someone else tosign their name....50 people checked and confirmedthe same info that I check, all came to sameconclusion. Reporter Thomas Lipscomb, I believewith the Chicago Sun has traced his DishonorableDischarge from the military, and he has been able tohide it....Carter passed the privace act...so theycould hide everything. The board that oversees this decision ask him to release this info, but ofcourse he did not . Kerry met with the NorthVitanamese Terrosist three times, this is treasonmeeting with the enemy. Evan Thomas stated that the 93%Liberal Presswas giving Kerry 20% in the polling....otherwiseBush would have won a landslide. Anyone who follows Presidential races knows he had no clue as to what he was doing.....Democratswere not voting for him they were voting againstBush and the war. Pollling showed this info..they admitted this. 85% military in Iraq votedfor Bush.....76% military in US and Veterans votedfor Bush....the majority vote of Catholic's went toBush.....we have to face it we had a terrible candidate with a God awful wife running with him..The wife could not control her mouth, and has asauce problem....the problem is Iowa and N.H.actually picks the candidate, and neither stateis America. McAulliffe sped up the primary, andhe was not vetted. The debates during the primary should have eliminated him , but they were held to a five min reply or Iowa & N.H. would have realized that he puts everyone to sleep. Mr.Speilberg obviously was not watching the same campaign that the rest of the country was watching. We may make the same mistake again....Hillary has to much baggage, and we will have to relive 8yrs. of Bill's trailer park trash. We need to wake up and not make the same mistake.

What planet was HE living on during the '04 campaign?? With Soros' money, and all of the get-out-the-vote concerts and fundraisers by all of the Hollywood elite, this looks like an effort by a big Producer/Director to intimidate his wannabe stars into campaigning and voting his way in '06, or forget about being in his movie(s). No Freedom of Speech for those who need Spielberg's millions, I s'pose.

hollywood can't figure out why people aren't going to the movies and why box office receipts are off. idiotic statements from left-wingers like spielberg are the reason. after being preached to by the likes of spielberg, hanks, pitt, roberts, clooney, et al., do they really think that i'm going to plunk down my dollar to be "entertained" by them? no thanks.

Hollywood didn't show up? What planet was Speilberg on during the past year? All the loud mouths from Hollywood showed up (Damon, Hanks, Sarandon, Robbins, Moore, Redford, etc...) and showed how much clout they have with realy people. NONE! He should hole himself back up in his castle and quit smoking whatever he has.

The fantasy world Steven Spielberg lives in perpetuates the fantasy John Kerry could be an acceptable leader of even a Boy Scout Troop, much less a U.S. President or even an acceptable Senator. John Kerry is a complete fraud. This country needs moral leaders. John Kerry appears to be much less moral than even George Bush - so he was as rejected as the current immoral movies from hollywood are!

Actually, John Kerry, Mr. Spielberg, and Hollywood have failed America.Hollywood and the Democrat party long ago stopped understanding what the heart and soul of America was all about. We weren’t attacked on 9/11 by Ho Chi Minh, Richard Nixon, or your average everyday Judeo-Christian Americans. We were attacked by radical Muslim extremists who were out to kill as many Americans as they could, and to wreak as much damage on the American economy as they could. The radical Muslim countries that fostered the 9/11 attacks and have also supported the Palestinian campaign against Israel, have absolutely zero tolerance for any non Muslim religious activity in their countries. The Democratic party hasn’t had an original idea since the fall of Saigon, and most of the Hollywood elite still think that the Cheech and Chong movies were both great art and intellectual masterpieces. If either the Democrat party or the Hollyweird elite would actually get out and talk with the folks in the Red states(not preach to them) they might get a clue.

Memo to Mr. Spielburg:1) You don't own us2) marketing a President is not like, unfortunately for you, marketing a movie.3) Are you suggesting that your colleagues are shallow fickle reactionaries? Well, we already knew that.4) Get over it and get a life

Isn't it funny that Hollywood has never rallied around George Bush, however he has won the last two elections? Goes to show that America could care less what Hollywood thinks. Mr. Spielberg is both naive and ignorent in believing that Hollywood has any impact on politics what-so-ever!

Interesting, I think what Steve meant to say was he blames Kerry for failing Hollywood. To say that Kerry was uncharismatic is a significant understatement. His campaign undid much work of the DNC for the past few years, adding only despair to the winging nature of the post-Gore angerfest. No, I definitely think Kerry let Spielberg down on this one.
