LATEST: The relatives of Notorious BIG had their $18 million (GBP9.9 million) settlement demand rejected by Los Angeles city authorities yesterday (17AUG05).
The family made its monetary request after it emerged during the late rapper's wrongful death trial last month (JUL05) that a police detective had intentionally concealed documents.
The angry relatives had insisted the huge payout would stop them from taking further action against LA City Council.

Notorious BIG's relatives have requested more than $2 million (GBP1.1 million) in fees and costs from the city of Los Angeles, stemming from police misconduct revealed during the late rapper's wrongful death trial last month (JUL05).
The request FOLLOWS US District Judge FLORENCE MARIE COOPER's mistrial declaration, after determining that a police detective had intentionally concealed documents.
The judge ordered the city to pay "fees and costs incurred as a result of defendants' misconduct".
