Steve Carell is to be joined by Will Ferrell on the US sitcom 'The Office: An American Workplace'
STEVE CARELL, the American comedian and actor who plays the hapless boss Michael Scott on 'The Office: An American Workplace', is set to reunite with his 'Anchorman' co-star WILL FERRELL when the funny-man makes a cameo on the show later this year, reports Entertainment Tonight.
Ferrell will play a visiting branch manager who proves to be just as calamitous as Carell's character and executive producer PAUL LIEBERSTEIN joked, "We found Steve Carell when he was nothing but a movie star and we turned him into a television star - we are proud to continue The Office's tradition of discovering famous talent, and we hope that once America gets a good look at Will, they'll see what we see: tremendous raw sexuality" Actor Rainn Wilson, who plays 'Dwight' on the show, tweeted of his delight at the news, saying, "Yes it's true! Will Farrell is joining the Office for (at least) a four episode arc! We're psyched!".
Carell recently announced that he would be leaving the EMMY AWARD winning series, which is based on Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's hit UK show. The 48-year-old cited wanting to spend more time with his family as the reason for his departure, and it is not yet clear whether the series will continue without him.
