British actor Stephen Fry has urged his fans to donate to a U.K. Hiv/Aids charity to help boost awareness of the organisation in its 25th year.

The funnyman is supporting the National Aids Trust (Nat), which aims to transform society's response to the disease and assist those living with the virus.

The foundation marks its 25th birthday this month (Oct12) and is calling for donations of $40 (£25) to mark the milestone - and Fry is backing the cause.

In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Today is Nat_Aids_Trust's 25th birthday Pls (please) donate £25 to help them continue their great work tackling Hiv in the Uk."
