Stephen Fry loved his directorial debut BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS so much he's preparing to follow it up straight away - by adapting one of his own novels.

The British comedic actor has written several best selling novels - including THE LIAR and HIPPOPOTAMUS - and now wants to continue his new career as a film-maker by bringing one of them to the big screen.

He says, "I've enjoyed being a director, more than anything else ever. We are now looking at adapting one of my own novels into a film.

"When you do something such as a period drama, you then want to do something different. It's vanity, really."
