The line-up for this year's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here has finally been announced, bringing to an end weeks of speculation as to who would be braving the Australian jungle. ITV revealed the contestants on Wednesday (9th November 2011), but reaction has been muted.
It appears this year's series will be of high interest to lovers of television nostalgia, with American actress Stefanie Powers and veteran soap star LORRANE CHASE both making the trip. Elsewhere, 68-year-old jockey WILLIE CARSON is set for a spell in the jungle, as is Freddie Starr. The famously wacky comedian gained success in the 1970's but has since been haunted by the infamous newspaper headline 'Freddie Starr Ate My Hamster', when a woman alleged he had placed her pet between two slices and bread and devoured it. Adding to the thrills is actress CRISSY ROCK, from ITV's Benidorm and Coronation Street's Antony Cotton. Younger viewers shouldn't despair though, as 'The Only Way is Essex' star Mark Wright has signed on to appear, as has McFly bassist Dougie Poynter and The Real Hustle's Jessica Jane Clement.
Bookmakers Paddy Power have installed Antony Cotton as the 7/2 favourite to win the competition, closely followed by musician Poynter and reality star Mark Wright. X Factor star Stacey Solomon was crowned 'Queen of the Jungle' last year.
