Stedman Graham, the 59-year-old American businessman, is still in his long-term relationship with Oprah Winfrey after the talk show host described him as "The love.the lover.the man.the partner.the mate" during a candid interview with ABC News' Barbara Walters. Recent speculation had suggested that 56-year-old Winfrey was more than just friends with companion Gayle King, something she vehemently denies.
In an attempt to set the record straight, Winfrey told Walters yesterday (9th December 2010), "I'm not a lesbian. I'm not even kind of a lesbian. And the reason why the rumour irritates me is because it means that somebody must think I'm lying. That's No. 1. No. 2 ... why would you want to hide it? That is not the way I run my life". The subject of Winfrey's long-term partner Graham soon came up, and the host said, "I do not know of another man on this planet ... who could have lived this life with such dignity, with such grace and such respect and humility in it".
As the interview progressed, the queen of daytime television became more teary and distressed, and when speaking about her friend King she began to cry, saying, "She is ... the mother I never had. She is ... the sister everybody would want. She is the friend that everybody deserves".
