Rockers Status Quo are swapping the stage for the screen after signing up to star in their first movie.
The British band, fronted by Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt, will play themselves in the 90-minute action adventure Bula Quo!, due to be released next year (12).
Parfitt embraced the opportunity after learning the movie will be set in Fiji, insisting, "Once I found out that we weren't going to be shooting anywhere cold, I was all for it. This is an amazing chance for us to do something new and we're all really excited."
Rossi adds, "The one thing Quo fans know is to expect the unexpected. Of course, Rick and I have already acted in (British soap opera) Coronation Street, one of the biggest TV shows on the planet, so this should be no trouble at all - according to management."
Bula Quo!, which takes its title from a traditional Fijian greeting, will also star funnyman Jon Lovitz and features 12 of the band's songs.
