Rocker Francis Rossi and his Status Quo bandmates felt compelled to re-record In The Army Now for their upcoming album as a tribute to Britain's armed forces.
The track was the title of their 1986 album, and Rossi was keen to reconnect with the song after meeting several injured soldiers.
He tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "We met guys who'd had their arms and legs blown off. That did me in.
"You see these people trying to be philosophical about what has happened to them but how philosophical can you be when you've had your legs blown off? So anything we can do, we do."
The song will feature on Status Quo's new album Quid Pro Quo, which is released later this month (May11).
