Leeds based Stateless release a new single Prism #1 on July 30th 2007 through !K7.
Prism 1 looks set to be the record that crosses Stateless into the realms of daytime radio. With Jim Abbiss, Arctic Monkeys producer at the helm - their self-titled debut album is dreamy and soulful, epic yet intimate. Stateless have been touring and recording with DJ Shadow so it follows that 'Prism 1' effortlessly mixes up ethereal melodies, intricate, uncompromising beats, turnatablism and vocals that haunt and uplift in the space of a breath.
'Prism #1' is the second single to be lifted from Stateless´ debut album. The 5 piece from Leeds will release this achingly beautiful song, a fusion of falsetto vocals, piano loops and drum'n'bass beats.
The CD features the evocative 'Lose Myself'", a track exclusive to this release.
Stateless is 25-year-old singer Chris, who with soul to spare, has performed on record and live with DJ Shadow. David on drums, Justin, the bassist and backing singer who harmonises just nicely with Chris & the integral technology boys. DJ Kidkanevil can leap 13 flaming turntables and emerge with samples intact. And then there's Rod Buchanan-Dunlop, plays keys and does a lot of the samples and loops along with Kanevil.
'Speak and Spell' was released on this day (October 5th) in 1981.
