Star Wars actor Mark Hamill is so desperate to cut his ties with the sci-fi franchise, he wiped all reference to the films from his resume.

Twenty-six years after he first played farm boy-turned-Jedi hero LUKE SKYWALKER, the 52-year-old is still best known for the role - but it's an attachment he is keen to sever.

He says, "It seems to me that it's semi-fraudulent for me to be still playing on it. It seems to me that I just owe the public new product. If I wanted to be a nostalgia artist, boy, I could embrace it wholeheartedly."

Hamill can next be seen in the movie SIX DANCE LESSONS IN SIX WEEKS and now works on comic books, CD-Roms and Broadway plays.
