Star Wars creator George Lucas wants to concentrate on small-scale "personal" projects after selling his Lucasfilm empire to Disney last month (Oct12).

Lucas' statement follows the release of Red Tails, a World War Ii drama starring Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Terrence Howard, which was the first Lucasfilm production for almost 20 years which is not associated with Star Wars or Indiana Jones.

He told reporters at Ebony magazine's Power 100 Gala in New York on Friday (02Nov12), "I'm going to go further out than that (Red Tails). I barely got Red Tails into the theaters.

"The ones I'm working on now will never get into the theaters. Mostly it will be philanthropy but I'm also going to make my own little personal films."
