A plaque to commemorate the life of late comedian Spike Milligan has been erected at his former home in London.

The funnyman died at his home in East Sussex, England, last year (FEB03) at the age of 83.

A year on, MIlligan's daughters SILE and JANE, son SEAN and four granddaughters looked on as an English Heritage blue plaque was unveiled at a house he lived in Bayswater, west London, yesterday (6JUN03).

Milligan, who is credited with influencing a generation of comedy greats including Monty Python, was awarded an honorary knighthood from friend and fan Prince Charles in 2001.
