Soundgarden will play 'Superunknown' in its entirety, for the first time ever, at SXSW.
Soundgarden will perform their classic album 'Superunknown' in its entirety at the iTunes Festival at South by Southwest next week. To celebrate the record's 20th anniversary, the band will take to the stage at the Moody Theater on Thursday March 13 in an event streamed live via the iTunes store.

The announcement comes after A&M Records and Universal Music Enterprises announced plans for a reissue of 'Superunknown' to hit shelves on June 3. A 2-disc deluxe edition will feature the remaster and 16 demos, rehearsals and b-sides - 10 of which have never been released before.
An additional Super Deluxe Edition contains 5 discs containing a huge amount of rarities, a hardbound book, new liner notes, rare photos, re-imagined artwork and the original album mixed in Blu-ray Audio 5.1 Surround Sound.
Last week, the iTunes Festival announced a batch of other SXSW performers including Coldplay - who are preparing to release new album Ghost Stories - country legend Willie Nelson, Imagine Dragons and Keith Urban.

Soundgarden's performance is also notable for the inclusion of Matt Cameron in the line-up. The drummer had previously said he would not be playing shows with the rockers in 2014 due to commitments to his other band Pearl Jam, however, he is confirmed to play alongside Chris Cornell, Kim Thayil and Ben Shepherd at the Moody Theatre at SXSW.
Seattle band Soundgarden reunited in 2010 and released 'King Animal' in November 2012.- their first LP since 1996's 'Down On The Upside'.
The band made headlines earlier this month after a woman was charged with allegedly tweeting death threats to frontman Chris Cornell. A local Seattle radio state said the unknown woman had been accused of sending over 100 messages to the rocker, from nine different Twitter accounts.
This year's SXSW Festival will feature musical performances from 50 Cent, London Grammar, Gary Numan, Drenge, Kelis, Warpaint, Kurt Vile, Temples, Honeyblood and The Falls.
