An Obsessed Fan Convicted Of Stalking Australian Actress/model Sophie Monk Has Been Handed A Suspended Prison Sentence.
James MCCabe, 32, pleaded guilty to a stalking charge in March (15) for bombarding the star with nasty messages via social media, and on Wednesday (06May15), a magistrate in Tasmania, Australia handed him an eight-month suspended sentence.
MCCabe was also hit with an indefinite restraining order to keep him from contacting Monk and banned from going within 200 metres (656 feet) of her.
He was also ordered to undergo psychiatric treatment and drug testing, and not to leave Tasmania.

Australian actress Sophie Monk has taken legal action after a car crash in 2010 left her temporarily wheelchair-bound.
The blonde star has filed papers at Los Angeles County Superior Court claiming she was left with "severe injuries" following the smash in L.A.
Monk is suing the driver of the other car, Delvinder Sing Bains, alleging she was unable to work in the aftermath of the crash and also faced hefty medical bills, reports Tmz.com.
Monk is suing for unspecified damages.

Australian actress Sophie Monk constantly worries about her appearance, because she's convinced her breasts are too "big" and she is too thin.
The former pop star is adamant she's naturally slender but would prefer to pile on a few pounds because being too skinny is "not attractive", while she also wishes she could change her chest and her legs.
She tells Grazia magazine, "It's not an attractive look, clothes hang off you. I prefer to have a little bit of curve; that definitely looks better. My legs are long but my body is too short. I have big boobs which I hate. They are so annoying. I wish they were smaller."
And Monk refuses to rule out surgery to correct her perceived flaws, adding, "I can't say I never would, though, you never know. But it's crazy (in Los Angeles); there are ads for it all the time."

Australian actress Sophie Monk is using a wheelchair after injuring her foot in a car crash at the weekend (13/14Feb10) - almost a year after her last road collision.
The blonde star was snapped being pushed in a wheelchair with her left foot bandaged after smashing her Toyota Prius in Los Angeles, according to Aussie website Popsugar.com.
In May last year (09), Monk was treated in hospital after smashing into a sports utility vehicle in Hollywood.
