The Jackie Robinson biopic 42 debuted at the top of the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart for both DVDs and Blu-ray Discs. The Warner Bros. film outsold the next three films of the list, including Sony's horror flick, Evil Dead, which placed second in its first week on the chart, Warner's Bullet to the Head, which placed thir -- also in its first week -- and Lionsgate's Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, which dropped to fourth place after debuting last week in first. On Home Media magazine's rental chart, Jack the Giant Slayer returned to first place, followed by Universal's Identity Thief and Sony's Evil Dead.
