Some Velvet Morning's new single, 'Don't Think', will be released on October 31st through MyMajorRecords, a new type of record company that allows fans to invest in artists they like. This form of crowd funding has already proven to be a success in France.
The video for Don't Think was shot at the National Stadium in Bangkok. Some Velvet Morning perform in the ring itself, while we see two girls preparing for, and then participating in, a Thai boxing match. The video was shot in black and white and suits the mood of the song particularly well.
Some Velvet Morning comprises brothers Des (guitar, vocals) and Gavin Lambert (bass) and Rob Flanagan (drums). They already have a fan in singing icon Nancy Sinatra, whose duet with Lee Hazlewood gave the trio their name, after asking Nancy for her permission. Their single Don't Think will remind listeners of a typical U2 song, complete with jangly guitars. The band are currently working on their new album, due for release in 2012.
