From one 'Family' to another. Colombian actress Sofia Vergara has announced that she will be appearing in not one but two popular comedy cartoon shows, coming shortly. Firstly, Modern Family star Vergara will play the object of Peter Griffin's affections in Family Guy. And she's also landed a guest spot on the spin-off series, The Cleveland Show.
Sofia will star in one of Family Guy's infamous 'cutaway' gags, in which Peter imagines himself as a lothario in a telenovela, with Vergara voicing the role of his lover. Later on in the episode, Huffington Post reveal, she will also play the role of a lady selling flowers in a restaurant, where Quagmire and Peter are enjoying a meal. It looks as though Seth Macfarlane (the creator of Family Guy and The Cleveland Show) must be a huge fan of Vergara's because he's also secured her a guest spot on the spin-off show, as well. She'll be the woman who tries to convince Cleveland to host a quinceanera for his son's 15th birthday, apparently. Looks like Seth is trying to inject a little Latin flavor into his shows this season then?
It's been a brilliant few weeks for Sofia. Shortly before this news arrived, the actress was named the highest paid TV star in the US (ahead of Kim Kardashian). And she recently celebrated her 40th birthday with a huge entourage of friends and family, in Mexico, where her boyfriend Nick Loeb popped the question and asked her to marry him. Looks as though 2012 will be one to remember for Vergara.
