‘Connection Lost’ examines how families now interact with each other through the internet.
‘Modern Family’ are set for a groundbreaking episode later this month, which will examine the way families now interact with each other through social media, their mobile phones and computers. The episode, entitled ‘Connection Lost’, was shot entirely using iPhones, iPads and MacBook Pros and took just two days to film, but over a month to plan and design.
'Connection Lost' will focus on Julie Bowen's character Claire
The episode concerns Claire (Julie Bowen), who, when away on a business trip, becomes concerned about her daughter Haley's (Sarah Hyland) whereabouts. Claire then spends the entire episode frantically using Facetime, Facebook and the Web while waiting in an airport terminal, talking to other family members and trying to track down Haley.

They also happen to have uncovered a woman who is willing to testify against him (Sofía Vergara). A Texas police officer (Reese Witherspoon) is sent to collect the woman and bring her in. This is where problems begin to arise, however, as the Cartels are notorious for their violence and brutality, leading to the two women being forced to make their way back to the police station with trained killers at their backs.

Sofia Vergara looked stunning in a red dress on the SAG awards red carpet, but the one detail everyone seemed to be focused on was the giant rock on her ring finger. Vergara is engaged to long-time partner Joe Manganiello and the two could not seem more in love, if they tried. Of course, when it came to the ring, Vergara had her standards.
Vergara and Manganiello went with a classic look for the SAG Awards on Sunday.

Sofia Vergara has brushed off criticism about a "sexist" and "offensive" stunt at the Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday (25th August). She was filmed standing on a podium which has led many to claim she was promoting the objectification of women. However, Vergara believes her pedestal appearance was quite the opposite.
Nothing ever seems to get Sofia Vergara down, and really why would it? She decided her boyfriend was "too hot" to escort her to the Primetime Emmy Awards; Modern Family in which she stars received yet another Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series; and she appears to have had an incredible time at the after parties. The 42 year-old actress spoke candidly about dating the 'True Blood' hunk.
Only a month after Sofia Vergara split from ex-fiancé Nick Loeb, it was reported that she was already in another relationship with actor Joe Manganiello, and as the pair have been cited many times together in public, it seems Hollywood has found its hottest new couple.
Vergara finally broke her silence on dating Manganiello
Although Manganiello and Vergara have been dating for the past couple of months, they haven't publically addressed their relationship until now. Vergara spoke candidly of her new man in a recent interview with Extra, and spoke about being a big fan of his.
Is Sofia Vergara dating Joe Manganiello? Although it's not official the pair has been spotted on two separate occasions cuddling up. Most recently the possible couple were spotted on Vergara's 42nd birthday which she celebrated in Malibu, California on Thursday (10th July).
Sofia Vergara has certainly moved on since breaking her engagement with Nick Loeb in May. The Modern Family actress was recently spotted cuddling up to True Blood star Joe Manganiello on Thursday (10th July) whilst celebrating her 42nd birthday at a California restaurant.
Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello have been spotted together twice looking pretty cosy.
Like comfort food, this movie has very little nutritional value, but it sure goes down smoothly. This is one of those shamelessly delicious-looking films that makes our mouths water at the tasty dishes that are lovingly created on-camera. And it also has an array of deeply likeable characters, witty cameos and sparkling dialogue to keep us smiling. So who cares that nothing unexpected happens from start to finish? This is a movie we sit back and enjoy without worrying about the appearance of a plot twist.
The title character is Carl (played by writer-director Jon Favreau), the chef at a top Los Angeles restaurant that is stuck in a rut because the owner (Dustin Hoffman) refuses to change anything on the menu. When a snooty food critic (Oliver Platt) criticises Carl for his tired and predictable cuisine, Carl's reaction sparks an angry Twitter war. In a fit of anger, Carl quits his job then hatches a plan to get back to his roots while bonding with Percy (Emjay Anthony), his pre-teen son with spicy ex-wife Inez (Sofia Vergara). So Carl and his sidekick Martin (John Leguizamo) take Percy to Miami to refurbish food truck and drive back to California, along the way building a reputation and perfecting their Latin-infused menu.
Since a complex plot would just be distracting, this film coasts on the charisma of its likeable cast, throwing in lively side roles for the likes of Scarlett Johansson as a restaurant colleague, Bobby Cannavale as a fellow chef and most memorably Robert Downey Jr. as Inez's hilariously nutty ex. Everyone is relaxed and effortlessly funny, which makes the interaction feel amusing and never remotely forced. While this is easily Favreau's most assured work as a director (that's including the first two Iron Man movies), this is also his most generous performance too. He infuses the whole film with easy-going charm.

'Modern Family' actress Sofia Vergara has revealed she’s called it quits with fiancee Nick Loeb after nearly two years of engagement.
Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb have called off their engagement

She said "Nick and I have decided to be apart," adding "We have been having too many problems with having to figure out how to spend time together." The 41-year-old explained how they both have busy schedules and their problems have been "getting worse and worse" meaning their relationship is no longer "fun". With a witty observational script, amusing characters and a jazzy sense of life in New York, this feels like an old-fashioned Woody Allen movie, even though Allen merely costars in it. Instead, it was written and directed by leading actor John Turturro, with an easy-going charm that's irresistible even if it feels vaguely dated. And despite its potentially controversial premise, the film is so gentle that it's unlikely to ruffle many feathers.
Turturro stars as Fioravante, a florist whose life hasn't gone as planned. His one-time mentor Murray (Allen) has just been forced to close his grandfather's rare-book shop, and with too much time on his hand has started working on Fior's life. Murray thinks Fior could make a living as an escort, and sends him on a date with his dermatologist (Sharon Stone). When that goes well, a string of wealthy clients follow, including the man-eating Selima (Sofia Vergara). But one of Murray's friends is more reluctant: the devout Avigail (Vanessa Paradis) is a widowed rabbi's wife who can't have contact with other men. As she and Fior begin a tentative friendship, there might be something meaningful developing. Then a jealous community cop (Schreiber) notices that something is amiss.
As a director, Turturro keeps the scenes grounded in real situations that centre on the characters rather than the machinations of the plot. This offers a lively depiction of this neighbourhood as a melting pot of African-Americans, Italians and Hasidic Jews who are part of each others' lives. Some of this might feel a bit contrived (Murray also adopts a sprawling black family), but the interaction is jaggedly funny and packed with a generous stream of honest emotion.

Jon Favreau's 'Chef' won a major award at the Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday.
Jon Favreau is planning to donate his $26,000 cash prize from the Tribeca Film Festival to a New York City food rescue charity. The actor-director won the Heineken Audience Award for Best Narrative Film on Saturday (April 26, 2014), for his food truck movie Chef.

We thought Chef would turn out to be really, really good on the strength of the excellent trailer and the critics piled in with the positive reviews.
'Fading Gigolo' stars Sofia Vergara, and gets a limited run this weekend.
Sofia Vergara has been speaking about her nerves at shooting a ménage a trois with Sharon Stone and John Turturro in Woody Allen's romantic drama Fading Gigolo. The movie - easily the least talked about bit of cinema ever - has a limited release in the U.S this weekend.

It follows the story of Turturro's character, who plays a male escort teaming up with an unlikely pimp (Woody) to make a little bit of extra cash. Vergara and Stone play Turturro's satisfied clients.

You've had your warning, now watch the trailer below
You know the supermarket rule – don’t go food shopping when you’re hungry? Well the same applies to watching the trailer for Jon Favreau’s Chef. The beautifully shot, beautifully prepared food will have you attempting a rare venison sandwich with horseradish foam and wild rocket puree, and we all know that can’t happen.
It's all about the food in 'Chef'
The story for ‘Chef’ sees Carl Casper (Favreau) given an ultimatum: cook Dustin Hoffman’s menu or don’t cook in his restaurant. Of course, the film would be pretty boring if he went ahead gave in to his mean boss, so instead he decides to fall off the wagon somewhat, become the laughing stock of an already snobbish culinary zeitgeist, and win back his respect and friends through an intrepid street food venture.

Carl Casper is a chef working at one of the top restaurants of Miami. Food is his ultimate passion in life and so he is utterly heartbroken when his boss forces him to cook a 'safer' menu, bypassing his usually ambitious creations. The change came about when it was found that a formidable food critic would be visiting the establishment, but, as it turns out, the menu switch was a bad idea and Carl doesn't take his subsequent criticism very well at all. After reading his bad review and going viral, he sends out a badly judged post over Twitter and is thus forced to leave his post at the eatery. Instead, he sets up his own food truck, delivering his food on wheels to anyone willing to try a new culinary experience, and along the way uses it to reconnect with his young son and ex-wife.
'Chef' is brilliant comedy about self-discovery, passion and drive. The movie's main star, Primetime Emmy nominated Jon Favreau ('Cowboys & Aliens', 'Iron Man', 'Elf', 'Zathura: A Space Adventure'), was also responsible for the direction, production and screenplay and it made its premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in March. It is due for UK release on June 18th 2014.
For Favreau, chefs are blue collar rockstars, and that's something he wanted to capture in this film
When you’re the man behind the camera of $1.2 billion worth of films (Iron Man 1 & 2) then you keep on churning out sequels until you can buy a country and name it after yourself, don’t you? Jon Favreau doesn’t: he walked from Marvel to make films about Cowboys & Aliens, and ‘Chef’, which you can see more of with the fantastic new clip below.
Behind the scenes of 'Chef': from left to right, John Leguizame, Jon Favreau, Bobby Cannavale and Roy Choi
‘Chef’ tells the story of a disgruntled chef, dismissed from his flagging restaurant and seemingly back to square one in the cookery game. But instead of stepping getting back on the ladder – ready to climb and climb – our chef decides to take his cooking to the streets by opening up a food van, capturing the current zeitgeist of ‘street eats’ enjoyed by foodies and hipsters alike.
Carl Casper is a well-known chef from Miami who works in a trendy LA restaurant much lauded by critics. However, when one particularly formidable critic shows up to taste Casper's food, his culinary creativity is thrown into question when his boss requests he make something a little more 'safe' than his usual creations. Unfortunately for Casper, he doesn't take criticism too well and loses his cool in a tirade which is captured on film and subsequently goes viral across all social mediums. Now jobless and unsure of his own passions, he returns to Miami to set up a food truck by the name of El Jefe Cubanos in a bid to regain some of his ingenuity and, of course, respect. The journey also sees him reconnect with his wealthy ex-wife and young son as the family attempt to rebuild the bonds between them.

Fioravante is paid to sleep with beautiful women, what could get stale?
The trailer has been released for upcoming comedy drama Fading Gigolo, the movie that sets out to test one man's endurance of having someone find and pay for women to sleep with him. It's actually skint florist worker Fioravante who gets paid for sex though, as the movie twists the common assumptions of prostitution.
John Turturro's Fioravante Is Paid To Sleep With Beautiful But Lonely Women.
John Turturro's character decides to accept a rather unusual job offer from his friend Murray (Woody Allen) who recently learned that his dermatologist and her friend were looking for a stranger to try out new sexual experiences with. After Fioravante consents, Murray charges the women $1,000, sends his friend to carry out his assigned task whilst keeping a portion of the cash for himself.
Strapped for cash, handsome but middle-aged bookshop worker Fioravante decides to accept an offer of an unusual job from his friend Murray, who recently had a brainwave after his dermatologist and her friend admitted to wanting a new sexual experience with a stranger. Murray charged them a huge $1,000, offering the modest Fioravante the chance to be a male escort for a large paycheque while keeping a portion himself. After realising that he quite enjoys the experience of worshipping single and lonely women in the bedroom, Fioravante continues his exploits with Murray and ends up meeting a particularly shy woman named Avigal. Consumed by loneliness, Avigal seeks comfort and recognition, but just how deep does her solitude go?

'Machete Kills' boosts an ensemble cast as Robert Rodriguez's action comedy looks to pack a punch at the theatres.
The first Latino action hero returns to the big screen as Danny Trejo reprises 'Machete Cortez' in 'Machete Kills' and yields his deadly blade in this sequel to the 2010 film 'Machete'. The upcoming movie is also the third based from the exploitation 'Grindhouse' fake trailers and is directed, produced and co-written by Ricardo Rodriquez.
Trejo as the Mexican spy 'Machete Cortez'
Other actors who will be reprising their roles are Michelle Rodriquez as the one -eyed rebel, Jessica Alba and Tom savini, and the new comers to the bloody epic are Charlie Sheen, Sofia Vergara, Mel Gibson, Lady GaGa, Antonio Banderas and many more.

Over the top, excessive action apparently isn't for everybody, as 'Machete Kills' is given a savage write-up by critics.
Machete Cortez is back, and this time he's got the President of the United States for a boss as he embarks on his most outrageous and dangerous adventure yet. In the sequel to 2010's Machete, Robert Rodriguez and Danny Trejo are both back as director and star respectively, in a film that has plenty to offer if you're up for a B-movie spectacle. It not, you should probably heed the words of warning from most critics, and avoid Machete Kills at all costs. Just go see Gravity or Captain Phillips this weekend instead.
Danny Trejo and Michelle Rodriguez star in the outlandish action movie
The most badass killer every known (in this movie universe at least), Machete has teamed up with the President of the USA (played by Charlie Sheen, who adopted his birth name, Carlos Estévez, for the credits) to stop a plot from anarchist mentalist named Mendez (Demian Bichir) to destroy Washington D.C. with a nuclear bomb.
Watch the video below; beware, it's ridiculous.
Lady GaGa is all-action at the moment. She appeared as the sultry siren in the Machete Kills trailer, and now the film has a music video to match. Aura is a strange amalgamation of dance, pop and retro, much like the film is a mix of action, comedy and all out gore.
The Sultry Lady Gaga in Machete Kills
The lyric video features kitsch silhouettes of the female figure, graphics of the song’s lyrics spliced with footage and action from the film itself including scenes from her co-stars Charlie Sheen, Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez and Amber Heard.
Robert Rodriguez returns to Grindhouse territory with this B-movie spoof sequel that mixes hilariously knowing jokes with painfully stiff storytelling. Fans of the genre will love it, but those expecting a sense of narrative momentum will find themselves bored when the plot stalls about halfway in. And the rampant misogynistic smirking should be too much for anyone.
After the events of the 2010 original (which itself was based on a mock-trailer from 2007's Grindhouse double bill), the former Mexican agent Machete (Trejo) has been secretly working with US Immigration. After a bust goes badly wrong, he is assigned by the US President (Sheen, performing under his birth-name Carlos Estevez) to capture psychotic drug kingpin Mendez (Bichir) in Mexico. Working with his beauty-queen contact (Heard), he heads into the danger zone pursued by the master-of-disguise Camaleon and immediately running afoul of a vindictive brothel madame (Vergara). Along the way he discovers that the real villain is a defence contractor (Gibson) back in America, so he asks his former partner-in-crime (Michelle Rodriguez) for some help.
Every scene overflows with hyper-violent action and near-naked babes with guns. And the fast-paced mayhem is frequently played out as wacky slapstick, with movie in-jokes and a general sense of chaos. Aside from the amusingly straight-faced Trejo, the actors play everything for laughs. Gibson chomps mercilessly on the scenery during his overlong scenes, while Sheen plays with his own personal history while winking knowingly to the camera. There's also a continuous parade of A-list cameos, including Gaga, Gooding and Banderas hamming up their silly scenes for all they're worth.
