Fact: Slash, Duff MCKagan and Gilby Clarke staged a mini-Guns N' Roses reunion at a gig in Argentina on Saturday night (07Mar15) when the former bandmates hit the stage at Mandarine Park in Buenos Aires during a Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators concert. All three rockers performed a rendition of Paradise City. MCKagan's Loaded and Gilby Clarke and Coverheads were the support acts at the Slash gig.

Fact: Guitarist Slash is to be honoured with the prestigious Les Paul Award at the 30th annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards in Anaheim, California next month (Jan15). The award, named after inventor and musician Paul, honours "individuals or institutions that have set the highest standards of excellence in the creative application of audio and music technology". Past recipients include Sir Paul MCCartney, Brian Wilson, Stevie Wonder and Peter Gabriel.

Fact: Rockers Slipknot, Slash, Soundgarden and Faith No More are set to headline Australia's Soundwave Festival. The two-day music event will take place in different cities over two consecutive weekends beginning on 21 February (15). Fall Out Boy, Marilyn Manson and Judas Priest are also on the bill.

Fact: A charity founded in memory of late rocker Ronnie James Dio is selling off guitars painted by elephants to raise money. The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund has teamed with the Asian Elephant Art & Conservation Project (Aeacp) to create the pieces, signed by stars including Metallica, Slash, and Aerosmith, which will be auctioned off later this year (10).
