Skylar Astin is reprising his role in 'Pitch Perfect 2'.

The actor has been confirmed to return as hunky college boy Jesse Swanson in the 2015 sequel alongside Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow, Deadline is reporting.

Meanwhile, 'True Grit' breakout star Hailee Steinfeld was recently announced to be joining the cast, taking on a role that would allegedly allow her to replace Kendrick in the leading part should the actress decide to move on from the franchise.

The original film, which was released in 2012, focused on a college freshman (Kendrick) who reluctantly leads an a cappella group called the Bellas to the finals.

The sequel will be actress Elizabeth Banks' directorial debut following her success producing the first movie.

Astin got his big break alongside 'Glee' stars Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff in the Tony Award-winning musical 'Spring Awakening' on Broadway, but 'Pitch Perfect' was his first major movie role.

The actor has starred in indie comedies like '21 & Over', 'Cavemen' and the upcoming 'Flock Of Dudes' since playing the vocally-gifted a cappella singer two years ago.

'Pitch Perfect 2' is due to hit cinemas on May 15, 2015.
