Sir Paul McCartney has flown out of Japan after doctors deemed him well enough to travel following his recent hospitalisation.

The Beatles rocker called off his sold-out Asian tour earlier this month (May14) while he battled a viral infection at a hospital in Tokyo, Japan. He was released from hospital last week (ends25May14) and ordered to rest.

The rocker has made a good recovery and was well enough to leave Japan on Monday (26May14). Reports suggest MCCartney has flown home to London.

Concert organisers are in the process of rescheduling his cancelled shows, saying, "Paul MCCartney himself hopes to return to Japan for more concerts as soon as possible."

MCCartney's Out There world tour resumes in Texas on 14 June (14).
