Sir Paul McCartney is giving fans a treat to celebrate his marriage to NANCY SHEVELL on Sunday (09Oct11) - he has extended his world tour and announced a string of new dates, concluding with a homecoming show in Liverpool, England.
The Beatles legend wed the American socialite in London on Sunday, and hundreds of fans flocked to the streets outside the venue to shower the couple with confetti and shout their congratulations.
The star has wasted no time in repaying their kindness - on Monday (10Oct11) the rocker announced 11 new gigs in November and December (11), including his first shows in the United Arab Emirates and Bologna, Italy, a visit to Russia, and a return to Sweden and Finland after a seven-year absence.
He will then wrap up the trek with shows in Manchester, England and his hometown of Liverpool on 20 December, a year to the day since he last performed there.
MCCartney says, "Playing live is one of the most exciting parts of my job. I'm really looking forward to the next run of shows and to playing places that I have never played before with my band. I'll be starting with my first ever U.A.E concert and from there I'm on the run across Europe and Russia, before finally getting back to my hometown of Liverpool in time for Christmas.
"My audiences seem to get better each year and the band and I love the buzz and feedback that they give us. I can't wait to see you all for some wild nights of rock n' roll and partying."
