Sir Paul McCartney's estranged wife Heather Mills was mocked at yesterday's (27NOV06) Evening Standard Theatre Awards in London, where she was compared to late poet TS ELIOT's "unstable wife". British broadcaster NED SHERRIN took to the stage at the British capital's Savoy Hotel where he announced FRANCES O'CONNOR's Best Actress nomination for her turn as VIVIEN HAIGH-WOOD in play TOM AND VIV. Haigh-Wood suffered from serious mental illness in her lifetime. Sherrin described the production as being about "a man who has his unstable wife locked up in the asylum". He added to much laughter, "Paul MCCartney is said to have seen it at least ten times." Last month (OCT06), British talk show host JONATHAN ROSS stunned the star-studded guests at the Q Music Awards in London when he declared Mills was "a f**king liar" shortly after the former model accused the ex-beatle of physical and verbal abuse in court papers.
