Sir Paul McCartney's former publicist has resorted to cleaning the streets of his home town in Dorset, south England after he was fired for criticising the Beatles legend's doomed marriage to Heather Mills.
Geoff Baker worked with the singer for 15 years before they parted ways in 2004 after the publicist voiced his concerns about MCCartney and Mills' marriage, which ended in divorce in 2008.
Baker has struggled to find employment and has now taken a volunteer job cleaning roads in the coastal town of Lyme Regis under a new scheme from the U.K. government.
He tells Britain's Daily Telegraph, "I am not claiming any handouts or benefits whatsoever and I hope that I never have to. On the face of it, this looks like I've hit rock bottom.
"I am one of the long-term unemployed who has been without an income for four years. I heard of the government's new proposals and I thought it might provide me with a job opportunity whilst doing something of service for my home town."
